Sand to Snow National Monument, which surrounds Hidden Passage Guest Ranch
The Sanctuaries by design tuck into National Monument and designated “Wilderness Area.”  Literally walk out the door and you are in nature, conjoined with miles and miles of wilderness, generally never seeing another soul unless it is another guest.

Our Passion

Co-Founders Ellen and Rex are passionate about preserving wilderness areas for posterity and immersing people in nature, reconnecting with their humanity.

You'll see this in:

  • Large scale topographic layouts at each sanctuary (see maps) with “loop trails” and longer adventure trails that intertwine through the landscape yet keep people from unnecessarily overrunning nature.
  • Positioning views, homes, outdoor patios spaces so as to take in the mountains and Panoramas about which Panorma Pass is famous.
  • A plethora of indoor-outdoor architecture in all accommodations that conjoins the outside and the inside.  The outdoors is always at your fingertips.  See “Harmony Sails” where the living room literally glides outdoors.  Link.
  • Architecture that blends into the landscape.  The colors and shapes of the architecture “sink into the hills.”
  • Many details that you may intuitively feel but not realize such as:
+ No glaring lights and soft solar light so as not to disturb the rare dark night skies of the high desert.
+ Natural cooling, encouragement of cross breezes and evaporative coolers, keeping the climate aligned with your natural cycle.
+ Windows without screens to give unimpeded views (with screens on critical cross breeze windows.) Solar energy powering for homes and heating the pool.
  • Architecture that is a light foot print, using less energy then most homes. Panorama Pass in partnership with FutureSpace Corp is always taking steps to reduce its carbon impact on the planet.  It is creating homes that are “net zero” homes. For more information see “This house Sails” and the “GeoTec.”

From the moment the gate opened, I knew I had found a special piece of paradise. This place is an absolute gem...gorgeous decor, fabulous tub under the stars, well stocked and sparkling clean.
Muse Cottage
A magical place tucked away in a hidden valley. Gorgeous, private mountains surround you. We hiked about 5 miles and did not see another person! Dreamy. Can’t wait to go back.
Athena, Hidden Passage
A hidden treasure in Morongo Valley, perfect desert getaway for peace and quiet. I stayed in the Clio cottage in January with my dog and we enjoyed the trails and hikes.
